inos iMS - Absolute Inline Metrology
Absolute measurement of features in body in white and
assembly
Beside the usual measurement of gaps and
flushes in body in white and final assembly there are a lot
of applications, where feature positions have to be
measured in absolute car coordinates. This shall not only
be done for random samples via CMM but for 100% of the car
bodies. Inos offers the iMS ABS systems, which delivers
within seconds the measurement results of up to more than
100 measurement features at an accuracy like a CMM.
Measurement tunnel and measurement robot
Depending
on the application installations are based on robots or on
tunnel constructions. Both systems deliver the same
accuracy in the range of +/-0,1mm absolute.
Example: Fixtures for a convertible top
Inos is
measuring with a robot based solution the fixtures in a car
body for the convertible top. In dependence of the
measurement result metal sheets will repositioned for a
best position for the welding process. The welding result
will then be measured again for control and documentation
purposes.. v Aside the measurement task also a quality
insurance guidance application is performed within this
application.

documentation for every measurement feature.
