BestFIT - inos SIR HPFIT - Door fitting

inos HPFIT is the optimal solution for robot guided assembly of doors is the automotive production

For a fast and high precision assembly of attached parts like doors, hoods and roofs the inos HPFIT (High Precision Fitting) application is in world wide operation. It is not just looking with high precision for the right position of the robot. To achieve a result with optimal gap & flush tolerances you need to know and control more information. The complete process including the screwing or welding of the hinges influences the final production result. All these steps will influence the final result. Inos has know how to support you in the right approach, so that the final control measurement of the inos HPFIT will show the good production quality achieved in the process.

Sensors on the gripper

inos HPFIT was the first BestFIT system in operation world wide with sensors on the gripper. Today it is one of the (or just the?) most versatile and robust system. This has been achieved by the production experience of several million doors to car body. This has been continuously feeded back into the design team and became available to the client by software and hardware improvements and new features sets.

Sensors on the gripper allow a high flexibility of the door in the gripper and a high variance in the position of the car body. At the same time investment costs are reduced, as there is no need for additional steel frame to take the sensors, like for systems with static sensors.

Highest flexibility

Production lines with different car types or variants can be managed with one gripper only - as long as this is physically reasonable. The concept for adjustment can be parameterized according the specific requirements

Production proved since several Million car bodies

Since several year the inos HPFIT- systems quality is proven in continuous operation. They are also operated in rough environments like near to welding robots guns. The design of the iSENS-Sensors avoids the contamination of the camera and laser optics and by this ensures highest availability.

The experience of the fitting of several millions of doors and hoods is incorporated in the design of the sensors and, the image processing software and the process design and control.

Efficient and simple maintenance and spare parts concept

Further features are
  • the automatic check of function and accuracy of the sensors (checking mode)
  • utilisability in welding environment
  • simple maintenance and repair concept
  • high availability of the system via multi step redundancy
  • ease of integration in existing quality insurance applications
  • inos HPFIT systems are remote accessible for installation and maintenance
