Robots follow a part in movement during operation

The need of continuous cycle time improvements requires to manipulate a part in the production process during movement/transport. For theses situations inos offers a dynamic robot guidance „Visual Servoing“. The robot grabs one or several features on the part and follows the parts move during the robot tool is operating n the part.

Highest precision

In cooperation with KUKA inos has developed a specific sensor and integrated the inos image processing software and the inos robot guidance software into the KUKA robot computer.

By this and further measures an accuracy of +/-0,3mm in robot guidance with linear conveyor belt speeds up to 2m/s is possible.

Innovation through partnership with KUKA

In partnership with KUKA inos develops new sensors and algorithms. Making use of a tight coupling of sensors and robot it is ensured, that timing and movements of the robot meets the accuracy and speed requirements of the final application.

Application areas in the automotive industry

Most of the production steps in an assembly line are performed during movement. In these areas a robot capable of visual servoing can take over a lot production steps. Application examples are: insertion of the battery for hybrid cars, seat insertion, cockpit insertion.
