1997
In 1997, inos Automations Software GmbH (inos) was founded in Stuttgart, the heart of the German car industry. Since then inos has been known for development and marketing of innovative solutions in the fields of automation and measurement technology, especially for the automotive industry.
Inos started with the idea of adding sensitive capabilities to industrial robots as they are being used today and will be in the future. These capabilities - seeing or feeling - technically speaking “sensors” – are now being used in robot and robotless applications with 100% quality assurance.
The owl in our logo represents sharp eyes and science. Sharp eyes for the robots are provided by the inos sensors. "Science" symbolizes process know-how and is the information extracted from the sensor images to achieve results that can be used to improve automation accuracy and robot capabilities. All our solutions are based on scientifically proven results from the academic sphere.
With these ideas, which are still valid today, inos has become one of the leading suppliers for specialized robot guidance and measurement applications in the automotive and other industries.

Internationalization
Since 2003 globalization beyond Europe, toward North America and Asia, has been promoted. This growth took place partially via subsidiaries and partially through strong partnerships. We have offices in Stuttgart and Detroit.
In the year 2007 inos started long term development cooperation with KUKA Robotics. The project is now completed and the result is being distributed via our partner.
Today
In 2010 inos concluded the search for a long-term strategic partner, who can accompany our internationalization and who is represented worldwide with production plants and offices. Since August of 2010, Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH has been a partial shareholder of inos. This realignment represents a consolidation and cooperative future development for the group internally as well as with external partners. The experience of our established globally represented and internationally successful partner creates possibilities for inos that would not have been possible independently. We are thus in a position to follow our international OEMs and continue to create innovative robot guidance systems in our core business, the automotive industry.
